I’ve been running since before high school, so I know the focus should be on life long athletics – not just fast performances for a few short years. I’ve completed a marathon in all 50 states, plus DC with many back to back weekends, so I know that the traditional goals of one, maybe two races a year can be turned upside down. I’ve also run 2 100 mile races and many other ultras so I understand the time commitment required and the need for balance in training and life. I coach because I want others to succeed. There’s nothing like seeing an athlete cross the finish line of a race she wasn’t sure she could finish and be able to say – I helped with this goal.
My Coaching Style / Methodology
I feel that communication is key. If the coach and athlete don’t communicate, then it’s hard to build a relationship. I never set limits on communication with my athletes so they aren’t afraid to ask questions. My coaching is online thru Training Peaks where I can build the schedule that fits your life and then monitor all aspects of the workouts. I do monthly reviews as well as comments daily on my athlete’s workouts.
