I started running 5k’s, then 10k’s…up to marathons. I decided I wanted to give back to the running community that has given so much to me as a person. I got involved with the local running club and became a board member, then president. I have been active with WRRC for 17 years helping people get started running and with training plans for all levels of running. I was instrumental with setting up a kids run program in our town. I helped with high school cross country workouts when my daughter was on the team. I have directed races and enlisted people from my workplace to run. (I mean people who could barely walk 3 miles!) Running is such a big part of my mental health and lifestyle. I believe running can change lives. I recently also because a certified health coach to help people with overall lifestyle changes.
My Coaching Style / Methodology
I have both road and trail experience coaching. I will first assess where the client is and where they would like to go with their running and life. I believe in building up a running base slowly to prevent injury. I will look at lifestyle, diet and stress. I teach running as a lifestyle. I like to encourage people to find a goal event, then we can work to make it happen.
