My first 5k in 1st grade is where it all began! I continued running throughout middle school, high school, and was recruited to Northern Michigan University to compete in D2 Cross Country and Track and Field. After collegiate retirement I knew I wanted to fulfill my dream of coaching as well as sharing my passion of running with many others. I was a volunteer coach at Northern, helped develop speed training programs for local runners in Marquette, MI, as well as helping establish and grow Queen City Running Company’s Kids Club Program. I am now a Fitness and Endurance coach with Rugged Running, based out of Conifer, Colorado and training to, hopefully one day, become an elite ultra marathoner.
My Coaching Style / Methodology
My coaching style follows that of Rugged Running’s holistic approach. Coaching and being an athlete is MUCH more than just putting in the physical work, it’s also about nutrition, mental health, and the general well-being of each individual. I also love to bring the fun and love of running to young athletes, so they can grow into healthy habits from the get go! What athletes can expect with my services is honesty, determination to help them reach their goals, great communication, and understanding of life itself. I specialize in psychology of coaching in the belief it’s more mental than physical.
